Hidden Voices is a touching & joyful celebration of the experience of young carers.
Young people worked with artists George Morgan & Laurence Harding exploring creative writing, digital & analogue photography & the camera-less technique of cyanotype. Participants have created striking & poignant images with text and spoken word to create personal portraits of their lives, sharing their often hidden stories.

Workshops have been going really well and the young carers have already created some lovely work we are really looking forward to the exhibition.
We just have one session left – 20 May & we’ll be preparing everything for the final exhibition so if people can try as hard as they can to attend!
To confirm details for the exhibition – work on installing the exhibition will be on Saturday 3 June in the Upper Foyer of the Towngate Theatre. Young people don’t have to attend but if anyone does want to come along and help they are very welcome to, just let me know.
The exhibition will be open to the public during the theatre’s normal opening hours from Monday 5 June – Sunday 11 June for Carers Week and we will be taking the work down on Thursday 15 June so people will be able to see it until then.
A private view/ celebration event on Monday 5 June 5.30pm -7.30pm (please note slight change to times). Drinks & nibbles will be available and as well as the work in the foyer we’ll be sharing a film of still images & audio that the group are putting together.
There is a maximum guest list that we have so can you please e mail Julie.baker@koolcarers.Co.uk with how many tickets you will need.
