Thank you Essex Freemasons!

Kool Carers have been helped by Essex Freemasons!

Kool Carers across Basildon will help support young carers thanks to a grant from Essex Freemasons.

The generous grant of £12000 over three years to Kool Carers will help to fund Young carers with a safe environment, to gain professional support, whilst having the opportunity to participate in tailored group activities, where they can develop life-skills, gain new knowledge, attend therapeutic interventions and respite opportunities.

Kool Carers South East Ltd was founded in September 2017 by a now qualified social worker and an experienced youth worker. Kool Carers South East Ltd has recently been granted charity status by the Charity Commission and focuses on supporting young people, who care and look after a member of their family who are sick, disabled, who have a mental health illness, or who may be misusing drugs or alcohol.

The grant from Essex Freemasons comes through the Masonic Charitable Foundation, which is funded by Freemasons, their families and friends from across England and Wales.

Rachel Tungate CEO at Kool Carers said:
“We are most grateful to Essex Freemason for their generous grant, which will help us to continue to provide a safe, professional and comfortable environment for young carers Age 8 – 18 years living within the Basildon Borough and Brentwood to develop personal and social relationships, whilst developing their independent life-skills and building their resilience, all of which helps to to reduce isolation and enhance emotional well-being”
