Job Title: Full Time Charity Administrator
Description of Role:
The fundamental role of the Charity Administrator is to,
- Support the CEO with the completion of funding applications.
- Organise and take a lead on fund-raising events for the charity.
- Organise meetings and produce agendas and minutes.
- To attend meetings where required in the absence of the CEO.
- Organise social media and other publicity work.
- Various administration duties, to include, handling correspondence, answering emails, writing letters and reports.
- Delivering group work to education establishments and community groups, in-order to raise an awareness of the plight of young carers.
- To support in the planning, organisation and delivery of the programmes facilitated to young carers.
To work alongside the CEO in supporting young carers families, providing advocacy support where required, assisting in challenging social injustice, in-order that families receive the support that they deserve and are entitled to.

Group Session Venues:
Various
Main Office situated at; Unit 1 Tuskite Business Park, Pitsea Hall Lane, Pitsea.
Principle Aim of the Charity:
- To provide young carers with a safe environment to gain professional support and reduce the feelings of isolation that so many experience. It is through empowerment and guidance young carers will have the opportunity to develop their lifeskills and build resilience; enabling positive participation within their own communities and the opportunity to experience that same life chances as other young people. To ensure that young carers families receive the support and opportunities that they are entitled.
Qualifications and Experience :
Educated to GCSE or equivalent, with a relevant professional qualification, which is focussed on working with young people, or demonstrably equivalent experience.
Experience of working with young people within group or one to one settings.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent IT skills, ability to use Word and Excel packages.
Be able to work on own initiative and within a team.
Be able to build excellent working relationships with people who have differing needs and abilities.
Confident in working with people from diverse backgrounds.
Respect and understand the ethos of Kool Carers.
Knowledge:
- An understanding of relevant legislation; Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding legislation and Practices.
Other Requirements:
- To be able to travel if required.
- DBS (at Kool Carers expense where necessary)
Salary – This is a Full Time contract, salary will depend on qualifications and experience.
Hours – This position will involve some evening and weekend work and will include school holidays.
Length of Contract – 2 years, on completion of a 6 month probation. The 2 year contract includes the 6 month probation period.
There will be a 6 month probation period, with reviews undertaken at weeks 4, 8 and 12.
