Sessional Youth Worker
Hi I’m Nikki, I have always had a passion work working with Children and young people, this stems from my own negative experiences of schooling. I know exactly how it can take just one adult or teacher to see something in a child or young person and encourage and support them to fulfill their potential. This is something that underpins my approach to working with children and young people.
I graduated in 2017 with a BA Hons in Childhood and youth studies from the University of Sussex.
I have also had various volunteering and paid roles throughout my studies in primary school, secondary school, SEN college, youth work, Children services, working with looked after and care experienced young people.
Throughout these paid and voluntary roles i have undertaken a wide range of training courses. The most recent is The Advanced certificate in Systemic practice with families. The experiences i have had working with potentially challenging and complex children, young people and families, shape the route i would like my career to go down. In July 2020 I will be starting on Frontline the Social Work training course to become fully qualified.
I will be joining the team as a sessional youth worker, i would like to say how excited i am to being part of the Kool carers family and working along side the staff and supporting the children and young people who use the charity.
